Biography

Alexander Poulos is General Counsel for Tiffany & Bosco, P.A. He practices Divorce and Family Law, as well as Criminal Investigations, Litigation and Defense. He is a former organized crime and homicide prosecutor. Alex’ years prosecuting crimes gave him an acute understanding of the human condition and the damage to spouses, family members, significant others, and children that can occur from family and domestic disputes. He understands issues that ignite these disputes — whether they involve children, finances, or both — and focuses on resolving them effectively to achieve a fair resolution for his clients.

Alex’s divorce and family law practice includes divorce, child custody (legal decision making and parenting time), division of property (including high net worth estates) child support, spousal maintenance, domestic disputes, orders of protection, juvenile dependency actions and other issues related to families and people living together.   If criminal issues arise in divorce and family law matters, he has the experience to address them. Sometimes these issues involve international law. Alex’ foreign service degree and previous work on Capitol Hill in Washington, D.C. highlights his interest in this area. He is a member of the U.S. State Department’s Hague Convention Attorney Network.

His criminal practice includes representation of persons under federal or state government investigation, companies receiving federal or state government requests or demands for information, or persons who are charged in criminal proceedings involving white collar crime and other felonies and misdemeanors. Alex’ experience as a prosecutor gives him an important dual perspective in approaching his client’s cases as their counsel.

Alex makes an effort to reach a fair settlement in all of his cases. But there are times when settlement fails and litigation proves necessary. Alex is an experienced trial attorney.  He has tried numerous jury and bench trials and has been appointed to serve as a Judge Pro Tem of the Maricopa County Superior Court. Alex was lead counsel for the prevailing party in a reported Arizona Appellate Court Case, which interpreted the issue of the award of attorney’s fees in protective order proceedings.  His cases have been featured on the national television programs America’s Most Wanted and Arrest & Trial and he has served as a legal consultant on Fox Channel 10 News.

As a football player, he was All-State at Brophy College Preparatory in Phoenix, Arizona and All-American at Georgetown University.

Before law school, Alex served in Washington, D.C. as a Foreign Affairs Assistant to Senator DeConcini and later to then Congressman John McCain.

Upon graduating from law school, Alex served as an Organized Crime and Homicide prosecutor for the Maricopa County Attorney’s Office.  He later went into private practice to serve clients in family law, as well as in criminal related matters.
